Illegitimate law firms increased by nearly 30% in 2014

The Solicitors Regulation Authority have released their 2015/2016 Risk Outlook which makes worrying reading. In 2014 there were 701 reports of bogus firms which was an increase of 28% on 2013 and a 101% increase on 2012.

They also state that this type of fraud is UK wide with identity theft accounting for 41% of all fraud.
