Around 100 members of staff recently enjoyed a magical evening of fairground fun to celebrate STL’s 40th Anniversary.
Search clerks from around the country and staff from STL’s Woking HQ and Burton upon Trent office joined the Directors at a daytime conference to review and celebrate an extremely successful year and focus their thoughts on the year ahead.
Whilst the Land Registry may have been high on the agenda during the day, it was far from everyone’s mind during the evening when the venue was transformed into a dazzling funfair from yesteryear when organ music and tantalising aromas from freshly cooked popcorn and candyfloss brought back many childhood memories. Traditional fairground attractions – including a coconut shy, hook a duck and test your strength striker – all competed favourably for attention with a giant Scalextric and modern games such as an electronic dance floor and Sega twin driving machines. Magic, illusion and intrigue were also in abundance when renowned illusionists, Young & Strange, performed sleight of hand and magic tricks during dinner, followed by a spectacular and spellbinding floor show that left everyone open-mouthed in amazement.
Alan Thorogood, STL’s Chief Executive said “I am delighted to celebrate STL’s 40th Anniversary. And I’m even more delighted to have a really strong and talented workforce that’s growing rapidly. STL has a strong past and we are looking forward to an even stronger future … and to celebrating our 50th Anniversary!”
