Milestone demonstrates NLIS leading position in the electronic authoritative conveyancing searches market
Land Data, the National Land Information Service (NLIS) regulator and the NLIS Hub, today celebrate a significant milestone in the history of NLIS, over 25 million electronic conveyancing searches have been managed by the NLIS Hub since its launch in 2001.
The 25 millionth search was a LLC1 & Con29 requested by solicitors Coles Miller through NLIS channel SearchFlow, for a property in Poole, Dorset. The search request was sent via NLIS to the Local Land Charges team at Purbeck District Council, it was returned to the solicitor electronically in just 5 days, well within the Government’s 10-day target.
NLIS has grown to be the leader in the electronic authoritative search market and today handles over 40% of all official search requests. It is the third largest provider of searches, behind HMLR and the Coal Authority. NLIS is still the only network to offer electronic connectivity with every Local Authority in England and Wales.
Five active channels currently connect to NLIS these are SearchFlow, Thames Water Property Searches, Index Property Information, PoweredbyPie, and Big Property Data.
