Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence 2021 Winners Announced

Local Land Charges teams at ten local authorities have been recognised at the annual Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence which took place virtually on 8th & 9th June.

The national awards highlight the work and achievements of Local Land Charges departments in England and Wales. Entries and nominations were submitted by solicitors, licensed conveyancers, customer services experts and Local Land Charges personnel. The finalists were drawn from a shortlist of 39 local authority teams and 11 individuals.

The Awards which are sponsored by the Local Land Charges Institute, Coal Authority, Land Data and the National Land Information Service (NLIS), cover five categories recognising customer satisfaction, best NLIS Local Land Charges department, the Unsung Hero and the Local Authority searches team of the year.

Jan Boothroyd, Land Data’s Chief Executive, commented:

“Congratulations to everyone who made the shortlist, the highly commended and of course the winners. This is no mean feat especially in a year where all our business operations have been so hugely tested and the property market is incredibly busy. It’s inspiring to see so many LLC teams embrace change and find solutions to meet so many challenges head on.”

The 2021 Award winners are:

  • Customer Satisfaction Award for Local Authority Searches – sponsored by the Coal Authority
    Winner: Arun District Council
    Highly commended: Reigate & Banstead Borough Council
  • Local Land Authority Searches Team of the Year – sponsored by the Local Land Charges Institute
    Winner: London Borough of Havering
    Highly commended: Wealden District Council
  • Best Performing NLIS Level 3 Local Land Charges Department – sponsored by the National Land Information Service (NLIS)
    Winner: City of York Council
    Highly commended: Bolton Council
  • Best Performing NLIS Level 2 Local Land Charges Department – sponsored by the National Land Information Service (NLIS)
    Winner: London Borough of Bromley
    Highly commended: London Borough of Lambeth
  • The Unsung Hero Award – sponsored by the National Land Information Service (NLIS) Hub
    Winner: Nicola Jayne Morgan, Newport City Council
    Highly commended: Lisa Stones, Gateshead Council
