On average a conveyancer visits 6 different web sites during the course of completing a conveyancing transaction. However, some conveyancers are visiting up to 13 web sites, a tmgroup survey has revealed.
The survey conducted during June-August 2016 by leading property data provider tmgroup, asked conveyancers “How many websites do you visit during a conveyancing transaction?”
Individual sites that were frequently visited included:
- Search providers (80%)
- Google maps (66%)
- Insurance (51%)
- NHBC (48%)
The most frequently visited site was the Land Registry, with 98% of firms visiting during the transaction.

The research was carried out to understand the amount of time a conveyancer can save during a transaction by working with a partner that provides a number of these services in one place, such as the tmconvey system which provides 5 of the most popular services in one site.
At a time where conveyancers are looking to streamline their conveyancing processes, the fact that law firms can significantly reduce the number of different web sites they need to visit during the course of the transaction should be great news for conveyancers.
Map Search saves the additional visit to the Land Registry portal
For example, through a partnership with the land registry, tmgroup have recently launched a new integrated Map Search solution which replicates the land registry service within tmconvey and saves conveyancers the additional visit to the Land Registry portal.
Conveyancers can create a case, plot the property and order title registers and plans if required – all directly from the map within the tmconvey search platform.
83% of customers have found Map Search very easy or extremely easy to use
Initial customer feedback has been excellent, with 83% of customers feeding back that they found the tool very easy or extremely easy to use.
