As a sponsor of DAC Beachcroft LLP’s The Penalty Shoot Out
, BCL Legal was hoping to make its mark but despite the valiant efforts of our team, we only managed to score 40 points and we came bottom of the league table! However, the event — which was staged in association with Active Soccer — raised £1,750 which brings the total the firm has raised so far for the Prince’s Trust to just over £5,000.
Twenty six teams from various businesses including Zurich, Pinsent Masons, Deloitte and Kings Chambers registered for the event which happened on 3rd September in Spinningfields, Manchester. The winners were from George Davies and they scored 18 goals and a massive 740 points. In joint second place were Squire Sanders and DAC Beachcroft Employment Males who both notched up 14 goals and 440 points. The winning team received a £250 cash prize and the runners up were presented with vouchers for Australasia and San Carlo.
Louisa Hill — manager at BCL Legal — commented; “The event was great fun and we were delighted to sponsor it but it’s made us realise that we’re not the best footballers! We’d like to say well done to DAC Beachcroft for organising the day and we’ll be brushing up our ball skills for next year.”
