SLC update on ‘dating service’

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) has said its ‘dating service’, which formally launched its in November 2013, has already had success in matching up firms.

The service is designed to bring together law firms that may have an interest in acquiring, merging or selling their conveyancing practices.

Since its launch, the SLC has introduced a variety of Solicitor and Licensed Conveyancer firms to each other.

These have been many and varied from solicitors looking to acquire licensed conveyancer firms through to sole practitioners looking to be acquired.

A number of these pairings are now engaged in active negotiations to complete deals.

Simon Law, Chairman, SLC said: “The Society’s dating service can already be regarded as a success even though it was only launched in November.

“Clearly the world of conveyancing is in a state of continuous change and it is important that the SLC is playing a full part in representing the interests of its members as well as helping the wider conveyancing community.”

Anyone interested in joining the Society is invited to email info@conveyancers.org.uk or visit the membership benefits page of the Society’s website.

The SLC has said they have a number of other firms who are looking to be introduced. These include three Licensed Conveyancer firms that would have an interest in a merger or being acquired — one in South Essex, one in South London and the other in the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border area.

Any interested parties are invited to e-mail info@conveyancers.org.uk — complete confidentiality is guaranteed and parties are only introduced to one another when they have both agreed to their details being exchanged.
