SLC and Bold Legal Group announce CPD roadshow tie up

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) and the Bold Legal Group (BLG) have announced that they will be jointly hosting two conveyancing CPD events to be held in Woking on 4th June and Manchester on 2nd July. The two roadshows which will both start at 2.00pm and run to 6.00pm will focus on topical subjects as wide ranging as the new Decision First Lender Exchange panel management system, the effect of the Mortgage Market Review going live, flooding and the implications to home buyers, the impact of lawyer comparison websites and the responsibilities of firms in respect of workplace pensions.
The events will be sponsored by the Property Search Group (PSG) and Conveyancing Liability Solutions (CLS), with Groundsure laying on the refreshment break for delegates. SLC and BLG members gain free admission to the events whilst non-members pay the very reasonable rate of £75.00.
Simon Law the Chairman of the SLC said ‘we are delighted to be working with the BLG on these events which will bring conveyancers together to hear about and discuss very topical issues for the profession. With conveyancers being extremely busy at this time it is very important that attention is given to the subjects that will affect conveyancers in the future such as the implications of MMR and the legal requirements of offering employees workplace pensions which will apply to all law practices — even sole practitioners.’
For the BLG, Rob Hailstone commented ‘The BLG is moving from strength to strength and we are excited to be working with SLC, the professional body for Licensed Conveyancers. By bringing the resources and membership of both organisations together we can ensure these events (and planned future events) address the issues which are important to the wider conveyancing community as previously mentioned and as importantly, to listen to the issues that are concerning them and they may need or want help with.’
The events are open to all legal professionals and offer an opportunity to ensure that CPD commitments for the current year are being met in timely fashion. For more information, or to book a space at either event please e-mail mail@conveyancers.org.uk or call 08714 237193.
