Shulmans QCAS adds to team

Leeds-based QCAS, a division of Shulmans LLP, has responded to its busiest period for three years by recruiting two new solicitors.

The firm has also recruited three new assistants, and further appointments are on the cards for later in the year.

Victoria Mortimer, Head of QCAS, said: “The market has really grown in the past two months. We’re incredibly busy — generally there’s a decline in activity in the summer as people go away on holiday but that just hasn’t happened this year.

“We’ve acted on over £2.05Billion of secured lending in the past 12 months. We’ve also noticed many properties that have been for sale for some time are suddenly selling, and not through dropping their prices either. There’s a real resurgence in the market and on a national basis.”

Charlotte Hart joins the firm after six years with Leeds-based O’Rourke Reid, where she worked on developments and purchasing sales, both leasehold and freehold.

Matthew Dickenson joins as a solicitor specialising in transactional conveyancing after five years with Arc Property Solicitors and a spell with Beaumont Legal.
