The SRA have announced the deadline has now passed for those wishing to renew their Practising Certificate for 2012/13.
The window for renewals opened on 1 November and closed on 14 December.
Individuals and firms had until then to complete their application and submit payment to allow them to continue practising in 2012/13.
A total of 26,764 bulk and single applications were submitted by the deadline out of an estimated 32,611.
Of the 6,000 or so applications not submitted, around 1,500 have been created and are in process but have not yet been submitted.
This was the second time that the SRA made use of an online renewal system with solicitors able to renew their PC using their ‘mySRA’ account.
Alan Vallance, Director of Organisation Services, said: "I am grateful to all those who have completed and paid on time. We are extremely pleased with the way the online renewals process has gone this year.
"While there have been some minor issues with the process, these have been identified and resolved quickly.
"The relatively trouble-free process this time around demonstrates that the extensive engagement work that we did with the profession earlier in the year paid dividends.”
Mr Vallance said they were however concerned about a number of firms and individuals who were yet to start the process.
The SRA will start the revocation process for all those who have failed to renew their practising certificate early in the New Year.
