Land Registry have sent out a warning regarding recent email scams received by their customers.
It has been reported that Land Registry customers have been receiving phishing emails purporting to be from Land Registry.
The emails feature an attachment titled “correspondence.html” and the main body of the email reads as follows:
“The document attached is an official requisition, reminder or letter from Land Registry. It is not a circular and relates either to an application you have lodged with us or a property in which you have an interest. No paper copy of the item of correspondence will be sent to you.
“The document is in ‘HyperText Markup Language’ (HTML) which replicates the appearance of the hard copy version. You will need to open the document with your internet browser”
Although the office or sender names appear genuine, it has been advised that genuine email addresses feature .gov.uk domains, whereas the scam emails are from alternative domains.

Fake: Telford.OfficeMail [noreply3@nlacpa.com]
If you receive such emails, or if you are unsure whether they are from Land Registry:
- Do not open any attachments or click on any links as they may harm your computer
- Do not reply to the email
- Forward the email and attachments to phishing@landregistry.gov.uk where they will be inspected
- Report any cases of stolen money or information, and phishing or malware attacks on your computer to Action Fraud
- Delete the email
- Run your anti-virus software and/or inform your IT administrator
