Optima expand transactional team in Newcastle

Optima the large Bradford based conveyancer and member of the Conveyancing Association have been rumoured to be closing their Newcastle operation which they acquired from McKeags and Dickinson Dees approximately 5 years ago. David Duckworth, Head of Conveyancing, has robustly confirmed that nothing could be further from the truth.

Talking exclusively to Today’s Conveyancer David said:

“I have heard the rumour about our closing Newcastle office. We are actually talking to the landlords about a lease extension!   Perhaps the rumourmonger’s work will assist us in our negotiating position on the lease.”

David also explained that due to the efficiencies that they have made using technology and a new case management system it now made more commercial sense to focus their remortgage activity in Bradford. This enables Optima to make space to grow their local transactional conveyancing work in Newcastle.

David said “I am delighted to tell you that our residential conveyancing capability in Newcastle is being expanded due to additional work from existing estate agency referrers and from new clients.

The Newcastle office continues to do Repossession Litigation and Sales and we also have a Commercial Property team in that office.”
