Online property searches soar

Email4Property, the UK’s largest online network of estate agents, has seen a surge in market activity in the three months to October, with the number of people looking to buy or rent increasing by nearly a fifth.
Enquiries to the website increased by 18.6% in the third quarter of this year. Of these, a staggering 86% were for rental property and 14% for sale property. This compares to 72% and 28%, respectively, for the first three months of the year and 78% and 22% in the second quarter.
Steve Lees, Head of Marketing at Email4Property.co.uk, comments: “July traditionally marks the start of the annual summer slowdown, but users have bucked this trend, with the three months to October the busiest we’ve seen so far this year for sales and lettings. “However, the latest figures show that the rental market is far more active with demand greater than ever. Our agents offering lettings are reporting that demand continues to outstrip supply, with landlords able to increasingly let back-to-back, avoiding empty periods. In the face of fierce competition from would-be tenants, it’s now more important than ever for customers looking to rent to stay one step ahead. Keeping in regular contact with local estate agents in your area will put you at the front of the queue and having a deposit ready is vital.”
