NHBC launches Buildmark Acceptance

The NHBC has launched a new system designed to make the Buildmark cover acceptance process easier.

They describe the new online system as simpler and faster. It will offer increased protection for consumers by making it easier to check the home has the benefit of Buildmark cover before exchange.

Customers will be able to download and print policy documents, including the insurance certificate and Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) cover note.

The NHBC said the system offers increased visibility on issues with the cover, for example where cover is no longer available because the builder is no longer registered.

Boyd Hackett, Project Manager at NHBC, said: “As the UK’s leading home warranty provider, it is important for us to continually innovate and ensure the warranty process is as easy and user-friendly as possible.

“The new online system will make it easier for builders and conveyancers.

“Builders will not have to store or send paper acceptance packs anymore and conveyancers will have online access to information and relevant documentation to complete the acceptance form. Ultimately, this will be to the benefit of home buyers.”

Conveyancers can find out more and register an account at www.nhbc.co.uk/acceptance.
