Market now for pre-Christmas sales

Residential property firm specialists Move with Us have said homeowners who want to sell their home by Christmas need to have their house on the market by the 7th of September.

The firm has analysed over 3,900 recent property sales in association with Home.co.uk, and calculated it takes an average of 109 days to sell a house.

Robin King, director, Move with Us, said: “Although it still feels like a long time away, we are fast approaching the time where people start to think about their Christmas shopping, and the housing market is no different.

“Whilst selling property isn’t an exact science, getting your house on the market before 7 September will give you a much better chance of selling before Christmas arrives.

"This also represents a fantastic opportunity for sellers, as buyers will also be looking for a quick purchase over the festive season.”
