Law firm reveals commercial property growth at ‘Not So’ Breakfast event

A specialist legal firm has announced significant growth in the number of new commercial property cases it is taking on.

Talbots Law, which boasts a networks of seven offices across the West Midlands, made the announcement at its recent ‘Not So’ Breakfast Club networking event that attracted 95 professionals from the local business community.

Hosted in the stunning grounds of Hagley Hall, bosses from the firm revealed that instructions in this field were up 9% on the same time last year, including a major new contract with a speciality wholefoods retailer with 90 shops nationwide.

The firm has pointed to a number of key appointments in this department as a driving factor in this growth and the desire from SMEs and large multi-nationals looking for a more tailored approach to their commercial property requirements.

Matt Wistow, Business Development Director at Talbots Law, commented: “We have had a really strong 2017 so far, with instructions across the entire business showing a 20% increase.

“Commercial property is contributing to our expansion and our aim of reaching £12m in fees this year. Clients like our personal approach, our transparency and our specialists have worked across a number of sectors so have experience in overcoming the most intricate of issues.”

He continued: “We have also worked really hard to build our network of contacts and intermediaries, building mutually beneficial relationships that help boost West Midlands business in the process.”

Talbots Law’s Breakfast Clubs are held bimonthly and designed to bring together clients and professionals from the region to network and discuss current business trends.

In line with the firm’s ‘We dare to be Different’ corporate value, the ‘Not So’ event is one of two ‘breakfast’ events that are staged after work and gives guests the chance to enjoy informal drinks and food in a high profile location.

Erol Mustafa from Jaguar Land Rover was guest speaker and brought with him a small selection of luxury vehicles before talking in detail about the investment JLR is making in creating the next generation of cars.

The Head Engineer for the hugely popular XJ and F-Type also cited the importance of networking events to increase local business opportunities and how a referral from a trusted source will often open doors that have been locked for years.

James Gwilliams, Director at Talbots Law, concluded: “These events are really well attended as we like to attract interesting speakers, so it’s not just about us and what we do.

“Hagley Hall provided a fantastic backdrop for the cars that were supplied by Stratstone – they certainly proved the major talking point and one lucky attendee even won an extended weekend test drive in a new F-Type.”

Talbots, which employs in excess of 200 people, has seven offices in Codsall, Dudley, Halesowen, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Stourport and on Waterloo Road in Wolverhampton.
