Land Data unveils shortlist for Customer Satisfaction Award 2014 National Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence

Five local authorities have reached the final stages for the Customer Satisfaction Award for Local Authority Searches in the national Local Land Charges Awards.  Solicitors and licensed conveyancers throughout the country have voted for the local authority that they feel provides an outstanding customer service in terms of quality, reliability and value for money.
The prestigious national awards acknowledge the work and achievements of local land charges officers across England and Wales, celebrating those local authorities who are pushing boundaries in an increasingly challenging environment.  The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on 24th February 2014 in Bristol, actor Shaun Williamson (best known for his former role as Barry Evans in EastEnders) will host the awards ceremony.
The awards are organised by Land Data, the National Land and Information Service (NLIS) regulator and are now on their 7th year. The customer Satisfaction Award is sponsored by Thames Water Property Searches who are also members of the Awards judging panel.
John Pickford, Searches Manager at Thames Water Property Searches commented:  “Customer satisfaction is key to a thriving and healthy searches market. The number and outstanding quality of the comments submitted by conveyancers has made for a very impressive list and demonstrates that Local Authorities across England and Wales have taken great strides in improving the service that they provide. They are all very worthy finalists and I wish them all the best of luck.”
The short listed finalists (in alphabetical order) are:
Barnsley Council
Birmingham City Council
Torridge District Council
Wakefield Metropolitan District Council
West Devon Borough Council
Jan Boothroyd, Chief Executive of Land Data, comments: “We are very proud to host the awards ceremony that recognises the excellent work of local authority local land charges. Despite increasing pressure from cuts and reduced budgets we are delighted to see so many departments rising above the challenges and improving and promoting high standards.”
Other sponsors supporting the awards ceremony include the NLIS Hub, the Local Land Charges Institute, SearchFlow and the TM Group.
