Land and New Homes Department expansion for LSL Property Services

Land and New Homes Department expansion for LSL Property Services

Having seen a significant rise in the number of land banks during the last 18 months LSL Property Services, who are anticipating a further increase in activity, are launching a new homes and land website.  Following an increase in their spending on this division LSL are also now looking to treble their workforce in order that they can service the anticipated demand.
David Newnes, Estate Agency Managing Director of LSL Property Services, commented:
“We are committed to growing this part of our business because it is already showing signs of recovery.  Following the UK’s emergence from recession, 2010 was the first year since 2005 when home building starts increased.  Berkely Group is predicting a 5% rise in property prices as a result of short supply of new-builds, which indicates the market is set for healthy growth in the coming months and years.
While many companies have decided to scale back their land and new homes operations, we believe the short supply of housing in England and Wales, along with the government’s newly announced FirstBuy Scheme will drive demand for new-build housing and make this a potentially lucrative area for both buyers and sellers.
We’ve already quadrupled the size of our team in the south of England and have hired three new regional MDs there  to deal with strong demand for new-build properties and undeveloped plots there”.
A bespoke site sales service will be offered by the land and new homes team, taking advantage of the 570 branches, nationwide, that make up LSL.  LSL are also offering their support to developers in respect of shared ownership, utilising their extensive contacts within the industry to put developers in touch with buyers.
