HMLR applications see monthly fall

The latest transaction data for England and Wales revealed a monthly fall in the number of applications completed by HM Land Registry (HMLR).

With 1,586,980 customer applications being completed in September, the most recently HMLR data shows that applications dropped by 84,917 month-on-month.

Out of the total applications, 1,562,821 were applications by account holders, equivalent to 98.5%.

Of these:

– 363,990 were applications in respect of registered land

– 747,090 were applications to obtain an official copy of register or title plan

– 210,805 were searches

– 90,653 were transactions for value

Standing at 372,168, South East topped the regional table, despite applications seeing a monthly drop of 20,569.

This was followed by Greater London at 298,966, with the North West ranking in third place at 176,591.

Where local authority areas were concerned, Birmingham came top once again with 23,631, followed by the City of Westminster at 20,892. Leeds closely followed with the number of completed applications reaching 19,076.

In relation to transaction for value customers, My Home Move topped the table last month at 2,114. O’Neill Patient followed at 1,151 whilst Countrywide came in at third place with a total of 827.
