Franchise model gains ground.

The number of strategic options for conveyancers continues to grow as Lawyers2you announce that they will be holding an Open Day on Friday 9th December 2011.
Not only do conveyancing firms have to think about how to manage the work that is coming through the door but also what the impact of ABS will have and whether improving your firms brand by using a franchise model is the best way forward for your firm.
Lawyers2you say the day, which is open to all interested law firms across the UK, will include a presentation from the CEO Guy Barnett, question time, a tour of the Lawyers2you marketing suite and listening centre, as well as lunch and refreshments.
The Lawyers2you franchise, which was launched in January 2011 by Guy, Managing Partner of Blakemores Solicitors, allows lawyers to engage with the public in a new and different way.
Guy aims for Lawyers2you to become a common place brand across the whole of the UK so as to ensure that everybody in the UK has an easy and accessible medium to attain initial free legal advice. Alongside this, plans are in place to extend into Europe and North America.
Following a series of trials across the UK Lawyers2you is now expanding the franchise project into the South, North-West and North-East of the UK.
Chris Harris who as well as running Today’s Conveyancer also runs Practical Vision a consultancy for law firms commented “Lawyers should ask three questions.  Firstly what do they think the market is going to look like in 3-5 years for your services, secondly will your routes to market still generate profitable work.  For many the answer to these two questions may be bleak but not for all. The final question then should be what is the best way to meet the challenges ahead?  If the answer is a franchise to bolster your brand the decision making process in choosing the right one is critical.  Back the wrong franchise and it could be a VHS v beta-max decision for your firm.  It seems sensible that if you are thinking about this model you should go to events like this with a number of franchisors and gather as much information as possible to aid your decision making process”
