CLC calls for help developing Apprenticeship scheme

The Council for Licensed Conveyancers is reviewing paths to qualification as a Licensed Conveyancer to make sure they fit the needs of legal businesses.

As part of this process they are looking for representatives from firms that train Licensed Conveyancers or employ students on the route to qualification as a Licensed Conveyancer.

They are asked to consider being part of a ‘trailblazer’ group working to assess the demand for and viability of an apprenticeship route for Licensed Conveyancers.

The group will work with the Department of Business, Industry and Skills (BIS) and the new Sector Skills Council for legal and financial services.

Being part of the group will take up quite a lot of your time in the first quarter of 2014 as the group works to develop a two-page summary of the standards for an apprenticeship qualification for submission to BIS.

That work will begin with a briefing meeting, possibly by conference call, in early January.

If you would like to be involved in the project the CLC would be grateful for an initial expression of interest by the 10th December.
