Charity focus – London2Paris24hour cycle – Peter Sowerby Trilogy

Ahead of Saturday’s Grand Départ to Paris, Peter Sowerby (Client Relationship Manager at Search Acumen) is delighted to be able to share comment from Angela Culhane, CEO of Prostate Cancer UK.

She stated: “We are staggered by Peter’s ongoing resilience and efforts in raising awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer UK. We’ve got a couple of extreme athletes amongst our team and it looks as though Peter will be joining them. Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition – to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer. Funds raised through challenges like this will help get us closer to achieving this goal”.

The peloton consists of a number of well-known industry veterans including Jackie Thorogood from STL and Andy Sommerville from Search Acumen.

Donations can be contributed at JustGiving.com https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Peter-Sowerby2017trilogy. To date, Peter and his peloton have raised almost £15,000, of which Peter says, “It is a massive sum of money that we’ve raised for Prostate Cancer UK, I just cannot thank everyone enough, and hopefully there might be a few more donations still to come from the conveyancing world”.

Peter is very keen to thank the various businesses who have sponsored the Team Cycling kit, so watch out for more pictures of the MAMILs (middle-aged men in lycra) and the ever young Jackie Thorogood from STL!

The various businesses supporting his L2P24 peloton are SortRefer, spicerhaart, Mortgage Advice Bureau, SortLegal, Property Butler, The Conveyancing Association, Terrafirma, Groundsure, Landmark, Future Climate, CLS, STL and Search Acumen, along with High5, Summit to Eat, DFDS and Bedford’s No Limitz.

Lloyd Davies, Operations Director of The Conveyancing Association, jumped at the opportunity to sponsor Peter, “All members of the Conveyancing Association are delighted to be sponsoring Peter in his endeavours to raise awareness of prostate cancer, it is quite staggering that 1 in 8 men will be affected by prostate cancer in their lives. His efforts are truly remarkable and he is an inspiration to all of us. Peter is always the first to dismiss his efforts, in his mind he says and thinks he’s only doing what anyone would do, keeping his foot on the “loud pedal” and giving the cancer a good run for its money”.

Peter’s biggest goal above all else is to raise awareness amongst fellow men of the biggest killer of men, he goes on to say, “If I can save one man having to go through what I, my children and my family have and will have to endure then that’s my biggest target of all”.

Peter’s antics can be followed on Twitter at @SowerbyPeter or alternatively he can be contacted peter.sowerby@search-acumen.co.uk; contributions can be donated via JustGiving.com https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Peter-Sowerby2017trilogy
