Birmingham City Council Local Land Charges Scoop National Customer Satisfaction Award

Birmingham City Council was awarded the Customer Satisfaction Award for Local Authority Searches at the 2014  Land Data  Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence. The council’s local land charges team were highly commended for the same award category in the 2013 Awards.

The national awards, now in the 7th year, celebrate the work and achievements of local authority local land charges departments which carry out the land and property searches required for conveyancing transactions in England and Wales. The winners were announced during an awards ceremony hosted by actor and presenter Shaun Williamson in Bristol.

Nominations for this award were made by solicitors and licensed conveyancers, who voted for the local authority that they felt provided excellent customer service in terms of quality, reliability and value for money.

Birmingham City Council’s cabinet member for Development, Jobs and Skills, Cllr Tahir Ali, said: “I am extremely proud that Birmingham’s local land charges team has been recognised for excellent customer service with this prestigious national award. Against a backdrop of cuts in public spending we know that our staff are under increased pressure but continue to deliver a quality service to our customers and it is wonderful that our customers can see this and have voted for us too. I would like to pass on my sincere congratulations to the team for a well-deserved award. Well done!”
Solicitors in Birmingham praised the local land charges team for their ‘efficiency, speed and accuracy’ referring to the team as one that ‘goes that extra mile to help and really listen to what we want.’
John Pickford, Searches Manager at Thames water Property Searches, who sponsored the award said: “We are proud to be continuing our support for this award, offering customers an excellent customer experience is critical during this time of change. Sincere congratulations go to Birmingham City for maintaining the highest levels of standards in customer service.”
