90% increase in new homes listings

The number of new homes listed in the first half of the year on the SmartNewHomes website has increased by 90%, compared to the same six month period in 2011.

This is partly down to the new homes portal signing up 36 new housebuilders and regional divisions since January.

These include Persimmon South East, Gentoo Homes and Cathedral Group.

Winning this business has added more than 100 new developments to the website.

Steven Lees, Director at SmartNewHomes, said: "Developers have largely focused on expanding their land banks over the last few years but we are now seeing a surge in the supply of new homes as output increases.

“Careful development of the SmartNewHomes site over recent months, including the establishment of new partnerships which add value to consumers, such as MoneyExpert and Moveme, have ensured we offer unrivalled access to new home buyers.”

The group hopes to develop the site further and build on recent successes.
