Trio take solicitors firm to next stage of growth

An appointment, promotion and relocation have taken a South West law firm to the next stage of its growth. In addition to appointing David Smith to its Devon based, Holsworthy office, Coodes Solicitors has promoted Shannon Fawdry of the Falmouth team whilst relocating Mark Florey to its Newquay office.

A well-known local figure with strong community connections, David Smith has joined Coodes from Peter Peter & Wright, a firm based in North Devon. As well as working with Residential Property lawyer Kate Bayley, David will be supporting Partner Pam Johns in expanding the presence of Coodes in the Holsworthy area.

Having joined a year ago, conveyancing lawyer Mark Florey will be relocating from the Truro-based office to the one in Newquay in order to help the business grow in North Cornwall. As he spent 10 years working within Newquay based Nalders Solicitors, Mark has a strong track record in the area.

Shannon has worked within Coodes as a secretary and PA since 2013 and is the newest member of the firm’s Falmouth office. She has recently completed her level 3 CILEX exams and is now undertaking legal training. As a newly promoted Conveyancing Executive, Shannon will work with the new residential property team in the Falmouth office – Laura Rowe and Lisa Brewer – following the merger with Preston Goldburn in 2015.

Commenting on the changes for the firm was Alistair Whyte. The Partner and Head of Residential Property stated: We are growing our Residential Property team to meet the increasing demand from people looking to buy or sell houses across Cornwall and Devon. As well as recruiting new talent, we are committed to developing our own staff. By expanding our teams in Falmouth, Newquay and Holsworthy we are continuing to nurture our strong local knowledge across the region.”

Coodes will soon be announcing further opportunities to join its expanding Residential property teams across West Devon and Cornwall.
