New business support fund could improve conveyancing process

Entrepreneurs and start-up companies are being encouraged by HM Land Registry to apply for £20,000 of grant funding.

Aiming to support the development of revolutionary products and services, HM Land Registry believes that use of their own datasets could have a positive impact on the conveyancing process.

Following the announcement of their strategic partnership with Ordnance Survey, the registry has launched a Geovation Programme which aims to support new property technology companies. Focussing on how the industry can develop, and in line with its own digital initiative, the registry intends to encourage the growth of business who will transform the property industry.

The deadline for applications is 17 August and is open to any technology company in the process of developing property or location-based services or products.

This can be applied for in the following ways:

  • GeoTech Programme: open to technology companies creating location based products and services, run by Ordnance Survey
  • PropTech Programme: supports innovative technology businesses who aim to change the property industry using location or property data, run in partnership with Ordnance Survey
