Safe Buyer Scheme partners with Crimestoppers to promote safe conveyancers to consumers
The Safe Buyer Scheme is pleased to announce that, following recognition of the steps they have taken to prevent fraud in the property industry, they are now working with Crimestoppers. Crimestoppers is an independent charity which helps the police solve crimes, making communities safer. The Safe Buyer Scheme has been working with property market stakeholders, including conveyancers, to combat fraud and the mutual conclusion is that now has never been a riskier time for both stakeholders and property buyers. Around £45,000 is stolen every single day from buyers through money redirection.
John Ahmed, Director at the Safe Buyer Scheme commented “Our innovative partnership with Crimestoppers was formed on the back of our research which showed that consumers are looking for a standard way of measuring a conveyancing firm’s fraud safety measures. We are delighted to be working with Crimestoppers to raise consumer awareness of property fraud to encourage homebuyers to choose a conveyancing firm that is committed to protecting their clients from fraud and financial loss using the Safe Buyer Scheme”.
Further details will be released when the Home Buyers Safety Campaign has been launched in July, but in the meantime, if you have registered on the Safe Buyer Scheme, you can check your firm’s consumer search results before the campaign goes live by visiting https://www.safebuyerscheme.co.uk/ .
