New speakers attending our roadshow!

Today’s Conveyancer is excited to announce the addition of two new speakers at our free roadshow event next month.

Having only just been confirmed, the new additions will be highlighting important updates and covering key subjects alongside a range of other industry experts.

Now exclusively attending the Liverpool event, David Pope will be delivering an in-depth talk on future challenges and opportunities with regulation. He now works for CILEx, the well-established independent regulator of CILEx members, Practitioners and Authorised Entities, as well as Chartered Legal Executives.

Previously, David worked for 30 years as a Manager in Retail, Commercial, Corporate and Head Office roles within Lloyds Banking Group managing risk across a variety of areas. Having joined CILEx Regulation in 2013, he is now the Entity and Client Protection Manager. Primarily, David is responsible for assessing applications for entity regulation and carrying out risk-based supervision of authorised entities. To do so, he makes sure that they are compliant with all relevant obligations and keeps a close eye on risk. Importantly, and in order to safeguard consumers and the public alike, David also develops and manages the client protection arrangements.

Director of Strategy and External Regulations at the CLC, Stephen Ward is the latest addition to the London event. He is responsible for the organisation’s media and government relations, as well as complaints handling and licensing.

In addition to his background in political campaigning and civil service involvement, Stephen has strong experience in private sector business strategy. One of his most impressive accolades is tripling the Law Society’s media coverage when he worked as the organisation’s Director of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility.
