New LLC service to be launched by HMLR

New LLC service to be launched by HMLR

Warwick District Council will be the first local authority where local land charges data will be made available.

In an announcement made by HM Land Registry, from 11 July 2018, anyone requiring LLC searches for property or land in this local authority area will be able to get them directly from HM Land Registry.

Earlier this year, the registry stated that it would be launching a new centralized register for LLC, with an aim to remove the regional variation in speed, format and cost of the searches, and allow the customer to choose from a range of options as to how they receive their online results.

The organization state that over 2018 and 2019, they will be working in partnership with up to 26 local authorities in England to migrate their LLC data to a central, digital register as part of their gradual migration approach. After this is complete, users will be able to get instant online search results via GOV.UK and the other HM Land Registry business customer channels; portal and Business Gateway.

The registry says that they will be keeping customers informed each time a local authority’s LLC records are migrated to the digital register.
