myhomemove scale new heights and take on the 10 Peaks Challenge

Energetic members of the UK’s largest conveyancing company myhomemove, participated in the 10 Peaks Challenge last weekend (18th May 2013) to raise money for their 3 adopted charities. 20 people from the Leicester-based firm took to the mountains despite adverse weather conditions and climbed the 10 peaks (a total of 14 miles!) in just over 10 hours.  A great result considering the tough terrain facing some of the more novice walkers.

Rob Gurney, Head of Legal Practice at myhomemove and organiser of the event said “Visibility was incredibly poor up on the mountains, but each and every one of my brave myhomemove colleagues battled on regardless – spurred on by the thought of how our 3 adopted charities will benefit from the sponsorship money being raised. I am so proud to be a part of the myhomemove team”.

Sponsorship pledged by family and friends will raise over £2000 which will go towards supporting 3 charities which includes The Bridge – a local charity working to develop sustainable housing solutions for the homeless throughout Leicestershire. Last year myhomemove raised £1200 to help support The Bridge’s Christmas programme providing the homeless with food, drink and sleeping bags.

Money raised will also go to the Peristera Orphanage in Sri Lanka and the Snehalaya Children’s Home in India. myhomemove’s donations help to give stability to these vulnerable children, as well as provide them with basic essentials such as electricity and running water.

Doug Crawford, Chief Executive said “it’s great to see the dedication from people at myhomemove and the commitment they give to help not just the local community, but the orphanages we support.  We have all witnessed the difference our donations can make.”

To date, myhomemove has raised over £12,500 for these charities and is already planning another mountaineering challenge for 2014.
