Ministers to be questioned on guidance for fracking planning

Ministers are set to be questioned on fracking planning guidance later today.

As part of the inquiry into planning guidance, the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee will question Housing Minister Dominic Raab MP and Energy Minister Clare Perry MP at 4pm today.

The session is the final in the inquiry into assessing whether local authority guidance into taking planning decisions on fracking applications should be improved or updated.

Members of the Committee will have the chance to put evidence heard so far to the Ministers, on whether current guidance is adequate. This will be in addition to whether there is a need for a comprehensive guidance document.

Questions on the fracking planning policy ministerial statement – published last week – may also be raised.

The meeting can be watched here at 4pm.
