Mark Blackwell leaves Xit2 after EDM takeover

Xit2, the online property and data network, will see it’s managing director, Mark Blackwell leave in the wake of its sale to EDM group.

Joe Pepper from EDM Group will take over the role from Blackwell, who has held the reins for six years.

Pepper said: “I am delighted that xit2 has become part of the EDM family. It’s excellent news for our customers too because we will be part of a scalable, financially stable group that has the ambition to grow and develop a highly complementary set of products and services for the mortgage industry.”

Blackwell is rumoured to have already found a position elsewhere in the mortgage, financial and property sector, being a well-known name after stints at C&G, Alliance and Leicester and Portman, Derbyshire and Staffordshire building societies.

In a memo to suppliers, Blackwell said: “I won’t take up my new position away from xit2 until this process of customer contact is complete.”

Blackwell also said: “I will do what I can to make sure over the coming weeks in this transition period Joe gets to meet or speak with you. I am of course available in the short term to take any questions you may have.

“In the meantime I would like to thank you for all your support over the last few and eventful years and I wish EDM every success with developing xit2 in future.”
