Liverpool firm passes on live cases as it enters administration
A solicitors firm has entered administration following an unsuccessful attempt to sell the entire business.
With offices in Liverpool and North Wales, Gregsons Solicitors has now passed any continuing cases onto a number of legal practices within the area.
Originally founded in 2011, the firm specialises in property conveyancing, litigating medical negligence and family law issues, with its peak turnover reaching £1.3 million. 30 staff are employed across its three offices, located in Flint, Crosby, and Birkenhead.
As well as being awarded the Conveyancing Quality Scheme accreditation from the Law Society, the firm was also a member of Chancery Lane’s Clinical Negligence Panel and the Advanced Family Law Panel before it fell into administration.
Joint administrators have been appointed in the form of Sean Bucknall and Andrew Hosking, both of whom are from Quantuma.
Whilst efforts to secure a sale have been marked as unsuccessful on the firm’s website, the sale of the firm’s conveyancing arm has now been completed by Quantuma, with the accompanying work also being undertaken by Metamorph Law.
Commenting on the difficulties of the sale, Bucknall stated: The terms of the sales facilitate the ongoing servicing of client interests and for all realised work in progress to be paid into the administration, thereby maximising the return to creditors.”
“A creditors’ voluntary arrangement had been proposed by the directors but this was rejected by the requisite majority of creditors.”
