July deadline for fully funded conveyancing courses

A leading Welsh training academy still has conveyancing training course places available free of charge for legal practices and property companies in Wales, as well as England, after being awarded £1 million of funding to provide them to conveyancing staff and businesses in Wales.

The Conveyancing Academy can provide limited places to those who enrol before the end of July on their Practising Conveyancer Legal Diploma and Council of Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) accredited Level 4 and Level 6 conveyancing courses.

The diploma course is ideal to train those who are new to the conveyancing industry while the Level 4 and 6 courses provide more senior training and lead to full Licensed Conveyancer status for those who succeed in them.

The Academy, based in South Wales, is the only specialist conveyancing academy in the UK, and has received government funding through Cardiff and Vale College to enable the initiative. Similar funding arrangements are in place for legal practices and property companies in England.

The Conveyancing Academy’s Business Development Manager James Smith said the initiative had been extremely successful and had attracted many Welsh businesses who were keen to take advantage of the opportunity to train or upskill existing staff free.

He said:

“We are the only training provider in Wales – and indeed the UK – to offer these courses and we really want Welsh companies to benefit from them.

“These courses undoubtedly make Wales the best place to train conveyancing staff and to grow your conveyancing business at the busiest time in the recent history of the property market.  Any legal practice, solicitor or conveyancing legal practice, that wishes to take advantage of the last few places should contact us as soon as possible.”

The Conveyancing Academy has trained hundreds of students since it was established in 2014 as an online training and apprenticeship provider. It works with many leading conveyancing legal practices nationwide, helping them to develop their staff and to build their business.

Its work with Convey Law in the provision of training courses contributed to the high profile success of the legal practice at the recent prestigious Apprenticeship Awards Cymru where it won the Best Medium Employer award in recognition of its high quality apprenticeship and training provision, and at the British Conveyancing Awards 2021 where it picked up the Best New Training Initiative Award.
