Judges confirmed for the upcoming British Conveyancing Awards

We are pleased to reveal some of the judging panel for The British Conveyancing Awards 2021.

There are some familiar faces on the panel, whose task it is to pick the winners for this year’s celebrations.

The judges are:

Rob Hailstone

Rob Hailstone is the founder of the Bold Legal Group and was formally a residential conveyancer with over 30 years experience.

Emma Vigus is the Managing Director of mio. Emma has worked in the residential property sector since 2008 and has indepth knowledge of the market. She is also the Chair of Women in Residential Property.

Lorraine Richardson is Managing Director of Adapt Law which provides training on topics around conveyancing. Lorraine is also an experienced property solicitor.

Sue Carter is a Strategic Consultant to law firms at Consult Sue Carter Ltd
Sue has over 38 years banking experience, with the last 26 predominantly focusing on the Professional Services Sector.

Beth Rudolf is a leading protagonist in the Conveyancing Association campaigns to create a positive home moving process. Starting out as an estate agent, she quickly moved into the legal world becoming a qualified Legal Executive and later a Licenced Conveyancer, working in both high street and high volume practices.

David Baskerville formed Baskerville Drummond and has specialised in assisting Law Firms with IT strategy and projects.

Simon Brown is the founder of the ESTAS, the award scheme was initially started to highlight estate agents who provided outstanding service to their customers.

Alex Holt is the Business Development Director at The Cashroom, he has vast experience in the legal sector and is a qualified solicitor.

Suman Dally is a Partner in the Residential Conveyancing Department at Shoosmiths.

Kate Faulkner is one of the UK’s leading property experts. She believes passionately that most of the problems in the residential property market can be solved if the media, industry and government worked together to educate consumers on how to carry out property projects.

Sarah Keegan is the co-founder of the CS Partnership. She is a qualified solicitor and has over 20 years’ experience in property law.

Rakeebah Rahim is a Managing Partner at Ronald Fletcher Baker LLP. Her background is in crime, fraud, and compliance.

Victor Olowe is a governance consultant and a former Chief Executive of the Council for Licensed Conveyancers with expertise in professional regulation, consumer protection and governance issues.

Paul Coombes is the Director at Legal Marketing Works. He has over 15 years experience in legal marketing roles, developing new sources of work using both online and offline marketing channels.

Lucy Morrison is a business leader and educator in the legal sector. She is also a qualified solicitor.

Steven Sutherland is the Head of Training at PM, he is a qualified solicitor who enjoys helping people understand the law.

Stephen Ward leads on the CLC’s strategy development and delivery. He has a background in the civil service and political campaigning as well as business strategy in the private sector. For several years Stephen was Director of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at the Law Society.

Tom Lyes, Director of the Engagement at Today’s Conveyancer publication, said:

“I’d like to personally thank the judges for volunteering their time and welcome them to the inaugural British Conveyancing Awards. I know from speaking to some of the judges over the last few weeks how much they are looking forward to hearing some of the special stories that individuals, firms and teams have to tell. “

The awards are taking place on Tuesday 25th May 2021 with Samira Ahmed leading the virtual celebrations from 3.30pm.

Don’t forget, if you want to enter there is an ‘early bird’ discount in place for entrants to take advantage of. A full list of categories can be found HERE.

The ‘early bird’ discount at £129 plus VAT enables you to enter up to three categories. The discount has been extended to Sunday 21st March 2021. After that the price will increase to £169 plus VAT to enter up to three categories.

If you’d like to secure the ‘early bird’ price, all you need to do is register your interest and pay prior to the 21st March deadline. After that the registration for entries will close on the 19th March 2021.
