Home Group recognised by tenants' service

Home Group, one of the UK’s largest housing providers, has been recognised by TPAS – the Tenant Participation Advisory Service for the high level of service it delivers and its commitment to improving the lives of customers and their communities through the work of its Involvement Team.

The 55,000 home affordable landlord has been awarded the ‘Landlord Accreditation, for resident involvement’. TPAS is the UK’s leading Tenant Empowerment Organisation.

Home Group had to demonstrate consistently high levels of commitment to improving consultation and involvement with customers and clients. It was praised for working in an ‘accountable and transparent’ way to deliver an ‘inclusive involvement network’.

TPAS also carried out independent interviews with customers, clients and Home Group workers throughout the UK. The not-for-profit company provides housing and support service between Cornwall and Dundee.

Mark Henderson, Home Group chief executive, said: “This accreditation goes to show that large providers can still be customer focused and deliver high quality involvement at a local, regional and national level.

“At Home Group we have a firmly entrenched belief that we should provide customers and clients with opportunities to improve their lives. Part of this includes them working with our involvement team and utilising customers’ and clients’ insight to shape the services we offer in the future.

“Each year we recognise the invaluable contribution they make with our Customer and Client Awards which shines a spotlight on personal achievements and work people have done to improve their communities.”

Jenny Osbourne, TPAS Chief Executive, said: “TPAS are delighted to award our Landlord Accreditation to Home Group. Throughout the rigorous process they have demonstrated their commitment to developing an excellent involvement framework for both residents and clients to ensure resident involvement is embedded as a culture across the organisation.”
