Highly Commended: Best Use of Marketing

Highly Commended: Best Use of Marketing

On Tuesday 25th May 2021, professionals from across the conveyancing sector came together to celebrate the successes and achievements of the industry at The British Conveyancing Awards 2021.

The inaugural awards took to the virtual stage, and were led by the multi-award winning journalist and broadcaster Samira Ahmed. If you want a re-cap of the action, the recording is available to view here.

As part of our winner spotlight features, we want to shine a light on those who narrowly missed out on being crowned the winner, but have been highly commended for their efforts over the previous 12 months at this year’s event.

Today we profile Bell, Lamb and Joynson  Solicitors who were highly commended in the Best Use of Marketing category.

About the award

This award looks at all aspects of how a firm or legal supplier promotes itself. This firm or legal supplier has shown that it’s use of marketing and strategy has positively reached potential clients and increased the firm’s on and offline presence.

Over the last 12 months the winner of this award must have demonstrated:

  • Exceptional originality and innovative thinking within a marketing campaign
  • Proven success through improved client awareness and knowledge, and company/firm profitability
  • Outside the box thinking, surpassing the campaigns of competitors.

The judges highly commended Bell Lamb and Joynson, saying: “Nice use of PR. Great to see a firm with a 200 year history taking a modern approach to their marketing.”

Martin Tolhurst secured top spot with LawSure Insurance being awarded third place.

How did you feel being highly commended in the Best Use of Marketing award?

It was a real honour to be acknowledged in this category especially against such a strong shortlist. Our use of marketing as a firm has been more important than ever in the last 12 months and we’ve implemented a number of marketing methods to let our customers know that we’re still very much here for them as well as being completely transparent about our services and updates from within the firm.

Tell us about your team and the services you provide

Our award-winning team work on conveyancing services across England and Wales and have been pioneers in the use of technology in this industry. The team share our company-wide views when it comes to being forward thinking and the way that they have adapted to new ways of working has been incredible.

In terms of our services, we take client care very seriously and have worked to make the residential conveyancing process as streamlined and stress-free as possible. We can now offer services via our conveyancing app with features such as live chat, document sharing, ID verification, proof of funds and much more.

How has your firm developed in the last 14 months and navigated the added complexity of the coronavirus pandemic and SDLT holiday?

In terms of the last 14 months, we have experienced our largest volume of conveyancing cases in our 200-year history and so we’ve had to look at best practice and new ways of operating all while allowing the team to work flexibly from home when required.

Communication is key and although we use technology and specialist software on a day-to-day basis, we place high importance on workplace culture. It was also key that clients still received the best service possible despite disruptions across the property industry at certain points. We are thrilled to have received such positive customer feedback at this time.

What’s next on the cards for you?

This is a very exciting year for the whole team at Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors as we celebrate 200 years in business in 2021. With years of experience under our belts, we aim to combine traditional values with a new way of doing things and we’ll continue to go full steam ahead with investment into our team, our marketing and our technology provisions.

What advice would you give someone thinking of joining the conveyancing sector?

To succeed in conveyancing you need to value your clients and value yourself. With dedication, you can achieve anything.

This is the very first British Conveyancing Awards, which recognises the herculean efforts of the industry, why do you think these awards are so important, especially after the last 14 months?

These awards offer the industry a moment of reflection. We speak on behalf of the whole conveyancing sector when we say that the last 14 months has presented challenges that no one could have predicted. It is a real honour to be part of something that brings all of those industry voices together to celebrate what we have achieved at such a difficult and uncertain time.

Everyone at Today’s Conveyancer congratulates all those who entered this year’s awards.
