Latest figures reveal rise in HM Land Registry applications
May saw a significant rise in applications to HM Land Registry according to the latest figures.
Published today (22/06/17), the data from HM Land Registry provides the most recent figures for both the number and type of application completed during May 2017.
In total, the Transaction Data revealed that 1,620,800 applications had been completed, a monthly rise of 234,655.
Of the 1,595,183 applications from account holders, 360,412 were applications in respect of registered land (dealings). In comparison to April, this is an increase of 44,695.
The number of applications to obtain an official copy of a register or title plan also rose month-on-month, going from 662,087 up to 780,831.
In terms of searches and transactions for value, May also saw a monthly increase; searches grew by 30825 up to 203,008, whilst transactions rose by 4614 to 74,576.
Regionally speaking, and reflective of the previous month, the South East came out on top, with 378,531 applications complete. Greater London was in second place with 312,068 and the North West followed, with 176,569 applications.
At the other end of the spectrum was the Isles of Scilly, with just 42 completed applications.
Similarly to April 2017, Birmingham was once again the local authority with the most applications complete, with a total of 24,427. The City of Westminster and Leeds followed, with 22,912 and 18,896 applications respectively.
The HM Land Registry data also revealed the top three customers for transactions for value.
Completing the most was My Home Move Limited at 1,660, followed by O’Neill Patient with 862. Having completed 694 transactions for value, Countrywide Property Lawyers was not far behind in third place.
In regard to searches, Breeze & Wyles were reported to have completed the most at 9,689.
