Feel Good Friday: My Home Move, X-Press Legal, Higgs & Sons
There have been lots of positive things happening across the sector this week, so we wanted to share these good vibes with you as part of our ‘Feel Good Friday’ news items.
Here is a little snap shot of what’s been going on.
Halloween week sees bumper completion numbers for top conveyancing firm
It’s been a busy time in the moving market since the Stamp Duty Land Tax fee holiday began in July 2020, with everyone from mortgage advisors to estate agents to conveyancers feeling the market hunger to move before the March 2021 deadline.
So far, the spike in the market has been earlier in the process including mortgage advisors and estate agents, however, estate agents are now generally reporting a reduction in interest and those who were selling or buying are now coming through the other end of the process to exchange/ completion and moving date.
My Home Move Conveyancing are forecasting a truly bumper week this week, three months after the Stamp Duty holiday was announced, combined with half term for most of the country as well as the end of the month – which are historically convenient times to move.
According to the Home Owners Alliance, the busiest day of the year to move is typically the last Friday in August however this week is currently forecast to be 17% bigger than the final week in August for My Home Move Conveyancing.
Prayag Patel, Head of Conveyancing comments:
“It’s been such a busy time for our conveyancers and they’ve worked really hard to maintain our service levels. We’re receiving lots of positive feedback from our clients right now, so we’re pleased to be able to help so many people to take advantage of the Stamp Duty holiday.”
Despite a large proportion of the country experiencing tougher lockdown restrictions, the Government have made it clear that moving home during a local lockdown is still possible, with many conveyancers and solicitors discussing a Covid clause with their clients.
