Emily is named ‘Young Conveyancer of the Year’

Conveyancing firm Conveyancing Direct is delighted to announce that Emily Eldridge has been named ‘Young Conveyancer of the Year’ at the Law Firm Services (LFS) Conveyancing Awards which were held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry last week.

Emily joined Conveyancing Direct back in 2010 as a Legal Assistant and admittedly didn’t think her career would pan out as it has to date. “I didn’t know much about the industry when I arrived but as soon as I started working and learning about conveyancing I became more and more inquisitive and decided to pursue a career with Conveyancing Direct,” says Emily.

After two years working as a Legal Assistant, Emily applied to be an Associate Property Lawyer looking after purchases, sales and remortgages, from the point of instruction right up until completion. This is a role she has flourished in and has led to her nomination for ‘Young Conveyancer of the Year’ by Conveyancing Direct Managing Director, Andy Hiesley.

“Andy put me forward as an entrant for the award and after answering a host of questions and a telephone interview I was shortlisted and asked to attend the event in Coventry last week,” Emily continues. “It was a real honour to even be shortlisted and I went up on the day to enjoy the occasion, rather than pin my hopes on picking up the award. When it was announced I was the winner I was really chuffed and proud and slightly shocked as well.”

Andy Hiesley was delighted for Emily and believes her hard work and dedication to the job has helped her progress. He also believes she will continue to prosper at Conveyancing Direct: “Since day one, Emily has shown outstanding potential and spent time continually learning about the various procedures, rules and regulations that come hand in hand with working in conveyancing. I am thrilled to see that hard work rewarded at the LFS awards,” Andy says.

“As a company we pride ourselves on providing opportunities for young people who have no previous experience within the conveyancing industry,” Andy continues. “We are strong believers that with the right guidance and support young individuals can be in full time employment with us, as well as studying for their exams to be become a fully qualified Conveyancer. Emily is a fine example of exactly that.”
