Don’t forget to take time to recharge over the festive period

2020 has been a year like no other, and everyone has had a really tough year. The conveyancing sector is one of the legal arms that has been under a lot of pressure to deliver a service to clients, whilst dealing with backlogs as a result of the coronavirus, and an increase in transactions due to the stamp duty land tax (SDLT) holiday.

There is no standard date for ‘Christmas shutdown’ for us in the sector, with lots of chat happening over LinkedIn and other social media channels of when people’s last day is, the last day for completions etc.

The Law Society for England and Wales outlined how we’ve been working around the clock to meet client expectations, and this can take it’s toll, and now that the feelings are that the SDLT holiday won’t be extended, it appears the new year will continue at a vast pace as more clients hurry to get their transactions completed before the end of March.

After an extremely tough and busy year, our Christmas wish is that everyone is able to have a rest and get some much needed downtime over the festive period. Then we can tackle 2021 head on.
