Committee invites views on Tenant Fees Bill

The House of Commons Public Bill Committee is seeking feedback on the Tenants Fees Bill.

The aims of the Bill, which is currently passing through Parliament, include the prohibition of letting agents and landlords requiring certain payments as well as creating provisions around holding deposit payments and enforcement.

Those with relevant expertise and experience or a special interest in the Bill are invited to submit their views in writing to the Committee, who are set to consider the Bill.

Following its second reading debate, it’s now been committed to a Public Bill Committee which will hold its oral evidence sessions on Tuesday 5 June 2018. The Committee must conclude by 12 June 2018 – the deadline for written evidence to be received by. However, it’s important to note that the Bill’s consideration could conclude earlier than this, so contributors are encouraged to submit evidence as soon as possible.

Submissions should be sent to scrutiny@parliament.uk.
