“Be Kind We Care” wins further industry backing

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) and conveyancing case management systems expert Redbrick Solutions have become the latest leading organisations to back the Conveyancing Foundation, the not-for-profit organisation serving the conveyancing, legal and property industries.

They have become official sponsors of the Foundation, boosting its vital work in promoting kindness in the industry and providing practical resources to support mental health.

The Foundation has raised nearly £1 million for charity since its launch. It has also won plaudits for its ‘Be Kind We Care’ initiative which launched this year to provide support for those in the conveyancing, legal and property industries by asking those working in them to have more thought for how they treat each other in everyday business dealings.

Simon Law, Chairperson of the SLC, which was established in 1988 to act as the professional body to represent the interests of Licensed Conveyancers, said the SLC “admired” the work of the Conveyancing Foundation, adding:

“The SLC supports its members and their firms in being active and contributing to the communities in which they live and work.

“At a time when conveyancers are under such significant stress, the Conveyancing Foundation’s focus on wellbeing and mental health aligns entirely with the SLC’s wish to support its members and the wider conveyancing community.”

As part of its ‘Be Kind We Care’ initiative, the Foundation has launched a series of webinars focusing on wellbeing and mental health to provide advice for those working in the industry and to share best practice.

Its first webinar on stress management provided expert advice on spotting the signs of stress and mental overload early and second recent webinar shared best practice on protecting  staff’s mental health with a round-the-table discussion from leading figures in the legal and conveyancing worlds.

New sponsor Redbrick Solutions also applauded the Foundation’s innovative work in bringing mental health issues to the fore of industry discussions.

Jo Hodges, Director of Redbrick Solutions, which provides award-winning conveyancing case management systems to legal practices across the UK, said:

“We are delighted to support the Conveyancing Foundation and its groundbreaking ‘Be Kind We Care’ campaign which has united businesses from the property and legal industry in supporting the wellbeing of their staff.

“At Redbrick, our beliefs about the importance of supporting our staff’s mental health and wellbeing are closely aligned to the objectives of the Conveyancing Foundation. We applaud the Foundation’s work in highlighting these very important issues.”

The SLC and Redbrick Solutions join Foundation sponsors including The Conveyancing Academy, the award-winning official training partner of the Society of Licensed Conveyancers and the Conveyancing Association, and ID and AML provider Thirdfort.

Georgia Davies from the Conveyancing Foundation said she was delighted with the growing support from the industry for the Foundation and ‘Be Kind We Care’, explaining:

“’Be Kind We Care’ has really struck a chord within the industry in a year in which conveyancers have been under incredible levels of stress triggered by the challenges of the pandemic such as remote working combined with the surge in transactions because of shifting demographic patterns and the Stamp Duty holiday.

“That stress has had a knock-on effect on those working in affiliated industries too and we wanted to help alleviate that by both drawing attention to what was happening and providing some practical resources to tackle it. Every penny we receive in sponsorship helps us to provide more practical resources to do that.”
