40,000 Sales Agreed In Four Weeks

It’s been four weeks since the English property market re-opened, and the latest data from Rightmove suggests that Estate Agents have managed to agree no fewer than 40,000 sales in this time.

The data also revealed that although we’ve only had a fortnight in June in which to trade, sales are running at just 3% lower than the same period in 2019.

According to Rightmove, would be buyers and spent over 955,000 hours on the site on Saturday 6th June, the busiest day for a very long time.

In May, the total sales agreed was still over a third lower (36%) than the same period in 2019, which suggests that the market is slowly recovering following the lockdown.

The portal said:

“Whilst it’s still early days, Rightmove’s statistics covering 95 per cent of the market indicate far more resilience than had been expected, with a strong initial bounce-back in all metrics.”
