Users’ high expectations drive big changes in tmconvey

Following the launch of the new tmconvey platform, Jane Towner, Business Services Director at tmgroup, takes a look back at the last 10 years, and the key changes that underpin their latest developments:

“When we first launched tmconvey classic in 2006, the integration of our intelligent mapping service, access to a wider range of searches, and quicker and easier form filling processes set us apart from the competition.

Since then, there have been some big changes in the property market, from the repeal of Home Information Packs in 2010, to the economic impact of Brexit and the various changes to Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT); not forgetting the imminent AML changes.”

The biggest change of all has been to our users’ expectations of the technology they work with in their day to day lives

“However, the biggest change of all has been in how people consume technology in their daily lives; and the high expectations they now have for the digital tools that they use. This has inevitably impacted on tmconvey users, who now expect intuitive, easy-to-use systems that require no training, alongside instant access to clear information.

With this in mind, our team invested a lot of time in listening to our customers and understanding their needs, as we redesigned our tmconvey platform to be clear, quick and complete in line with their high expectations.”

The integration of SDLT provided a fantastic opportunity for the tmgroup team to showcase their expertise in streamlining complex processes

“Beyond our users’ increasing expectations of how our technology should look and feel, we also developed our range of services to deliver a complete and efficient user experience; without the need for our users to dip in and out of different websites to complete their work.

The integration of electronic Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) submission is one of the key features of the new tmconvey platform.

While it was added to our range of services in response to customer demand, it also provided a great opportunity for us to showcase our expertise in redesigning processes to be more efficient and create a positive user experience. This has subsequently elevated the SDLT submission process beyond the complex experience offered by other providers.”

The tmconvey platform will continue to evolve and respond to users’ needs

“The addition of Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) integration is just one of the ways the new tmconvey platform is more complete than ever before. However, our platform will never be entirely finished, as we live and breathe a continual cycle of listening, developing and delivering to market; anchored in technology; which will continue over the next year as the site evolves.

This range of services is underpinned by our redesigned services page, which enables us to deliver a more flexible user experience in a clear way. As the platform continues to develop, there will also be increasing options to customise this dashboard to enable our users to choose how they want to work and get straight to where they need to be.

It is easy for businesses to fall into a trap of creating technology to fix processes, rather than understanding how those using it want to work. However, we’re always listening to our customers’ feedback and opinions, and are confident that our platform will continue to adapt to their needs in the months and years to come.”

With thanks to Jane Towner, who has worked for tmgroup since 2003, originally joining the company as a Regional Training Manager before progressing to the role of Operations Director. She is now Business Services Director, looking after a network of industry partners and the delivery of business projects.
