Event Details

Here at the Coal Authority, we have an expansive database of mining risks, including around 173,500 recorded mine entries.

There are, however, a number of unrecorded mine entries that have not been captured in historical mine plans. We explore one of these examples, bringing the risks to life with one of our real life case studies which was managed by our Public Safety and Subsidence team. This team includes regionally based Project Managers who are strategically placed across the coalfield to manage the range and variety of different surface hazards that are reported to us on a daily basis.

These projects go from the initial call out where we secure the site to protect the public from any risks, through to designs by our award winning engineers, ending with the implementation of sustainable solutions to remediate sites. You’ll also get an understanding of how we keep our information up to date when an unrecorded mine entry is reported to us.
