Contaminated land for planning purposes

New developments, including residential and industrial, can be affected from contaminated land often related to historic industrial activity. A contaminated land assessment is often required by local authorities prior to planning permission being granted. This is to ensure any possible contaminants are identified at the desktop stage which ensures the safety of the developers and end users of the site. If Contamination is indicated, testing can be carried out onsite, and if required the site can be remediated to ensure it is safe for future use.
