The Yorkshire Legal Awards 2015

The Yorkshire Legal Awards 2015

The prestigious Yorkshire Legal Awards event is nearing arrival and the official shortlist has been announced. This year has seen the biggest influx of participants since the awards began, according to recent reports. This just demonstrates the sheer saturation of talent across the region and the amount of firms that are eager to attain winning status.

This year the awards are proving to show real promise within the conveyancing industry, with some conveyancing firms being shortlisted for numerous awards.

Both the Residential Property Award and the Commercial Property Award, are likely to be the most eagerly anticipated amongst conveyancers. The firms that have excelled this year and have been shortlisted for the Residential Property Award are Banner Jones Solicitors, Chadwick Lawrence LLP, and Ramsdens Solicitors LLP.

For Ramsdens Solicitors LLP, it isn’t just property related awards they are finalists for. The multidisciplinary firm also nominees for two other awards, including the prestigious Law Firm of the Year award; Ramsdens themselves stating that it is a ‘real accolade’ to be within the final selection.

All three firms mentioned in the Residential Property Award shortlist are said to have demonstrated outstanding client dedication, and an array of other contributions within the property sector. Given the housing ‘crisis’ and the substantial difference in value between properties in the North and the South, these three firms have excelled beyond expectations, earning a rightful spot in the shortlist for the award.

In terms of Commercial Property Award, Addleshaw Goddard LLP, Irwin Mitchell LLP, and Shulmans LLP have all been shortlisted. Again, the commitment and dedication shown by all these firms gives consumers as well as professionals confidence and trust within the conveyancing industry.

Another key category is the Rising Star Award, which recognises legal professionals who are new to the industry. Irwin Mitchell’s David Cowgill, who works within the firm’s commercial property team, is a finalist, as well as Mark Wilkinson of Shulmans. This award not only recognises fresh talent, but will also be an encouragement for newly qualified professionals.

Will you be attending this year’s awards? What do you think it takes to become an award winning law firm?
