SRA warning on returned revocation notices

SRA warning on returned revocation notices

The SRA have expressed concern that hundreds of letters and emails they have sent out with notice of revocation have been returned as ‘not known at this address’, or, in the case of emails, have simply bounced back.

The individuals concerned only have until the 11th March to complete the renewals exercise or face revocation.

The SRA has tried to contact individuals at their last notified address by letter or email, but wants to offer individuals one last opportunity to either complete their PC/registration renewal — or provide notification of non-renewal – before their practising certificate is formally revoked.

In some cases, letters have been returned by an individual’s former employer who has no forwarding address.

The SRA has produced the following guidance for anyone who has not yet activated a mySRA account or has issues in using it.

To use mySRA, you need to have activated your mySRA account. If you haven’t activated your account yet, then you need to request an activation key.

SRA advisers are available to help anyone in danger of revocation to get a new code. They can be contacted on 0870 606 2555, or +44 (0) 121 329 6800 from outside the UK. In the telephone message menu, select Option 2, followed by Option 2, again.

When you activate your mySRA account, you will create a "Secret Word", "Username" and "Password".

You will need to use all three of these when logging in to mySRA. If you forget any of these, then you need to take the following action:

Forgotten username:

– go to mySRA

– select mySRA services

– select "Forgotten username?" from the menu on the left enter the email address that you provided when you activated your account

– your username will then be emailed to you

– If you do not receive this email within 24 hours, you should check your spam and junk folders.

If you have still been unable to trace the email, we may hold an email address that is out of date. If you think this is the case, then you will need to call the Contact Centre on 0870 606 2555 from the UK, or +44 (0) 121 329 6800 from outside the UK

Forgotten password:

– go to mySRA

– select mySRA services

– select "Forgotten password?" from the menu on the leftenter your username, and then selected characters from your secret word (which is case sensitive)

– you will then be able to change your password If you’ve forgotten your secret word, you will need to call the Contact Centre on 0870 606 2555 from the UK, or +44 (0) 121 329 6800 from outside the UK.

If you have forgotten your username and password and have changed your email address since activating mySRA, then you will need to call the Contact Centre using the details above.
