SRA Warning: misuse of Rowlinson Solicitors name

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has issued a warning of con artists claiming to be from legitimate solicitor Lynne Rowlinson at Rowlinsons Solicitors Limited.

The SRA has been informed that a number of individuals across the country have been sent emails purportedly from Lynne Rowlinson, alleging the recipient that they may be entitled to the benefit of a deceased client’s estate.

The emails that have been reported are in Lynne Rowlinson’s name, but other letters connected with this fraud may not always use these details.

Rowlinsons Solicitors is a genuine firm which is authorised and regulated by the SRA. Lynne Rowlinson is a solicitor and is no longer a consultant at the firm.

The email address lynne.rowlinsons@live.com is not a legitimate email address for the solicitors practice Rowlinsons Solicitors or Lynne Rowlinson.

Any business or transactions through the email address of lynne.rowlinsons@live.com are not undertaken by a solicitor’s practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.

Any information about or dealings with individuals via the email address lynne.rowlinsons@live.com, particularly if it involves the payment of money, should be reported to the police.

Affected members of the public can also report the matter to the SRA via fraud@sra.org.uk. Solicitors should report the matter to the SRA red alert line on 0845 850 0999 or redalert@sra.org.uk.
